  • 1 pound ground beef or turkey Choose your preferred meat.
  • 1 packet taco seasoning Follow package instructions.
  • 12 small flour tortillas Cut into circles to fit muffin tin.
  • 1 cup shredded cheese Use cheddar or Mexican blend.
  • 1 cup salsa For serving.
  • to taste Sour cream For topping.
  • to taste Olives or jalapeños For decoration.

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • In a skillet, cook the ground beef or turkey over medium heat until browned. Drain excess fat.
  • Stir in the taco seasoning according to package instructions.
  • Cut the tortillas into circles large enough to fit into a muffin tin.
  • Press each tortilla circle into the muffin tin to form a cup shape.
  • Fill each tortilla cup with the seasoned meat, and top with shredded cheese.

Baking

  • Bake for 10-12 minutes until the tortillas are crispy and the cheese is melted.
  • Remove from the oven, and let cool slightly.

Serving

  • Serve with salsa and a dollop of sour cream on top. Decorate with olives or jalapeños for a spooky effect.

Notes

If you have leftovers, store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days. Reheat in the oven for best results. For spicier tacos, add chopped jalapeños to the meat mixture. For a vegetarian option, substitute meat with black beans and corn.
