Equipment

  • Whisk (for mixing the batter)
  • Spatula (for folding in strawberries)
  • Waffle iron (for cooking the waffles)
  • Measuring Cups & Spoons – For accurate ingredient measurements
  • Ladle or measuring cup (for pouring batter into the waffle iron)
  • Wire rack (optional, for keeping waffles crispy)
  • Knife & cutting board (for dicing strawberries)

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 ¾ cups milk or buttermilk for extra richness
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries diced (or thawed frozen strawberries, patted dry)

Instructions

  • 1️⃣ Whisk the Dry Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt until well combined.
  • 2️⃣ Prepare the Wet Ingredients: In a separate bowl, beat the eggs, milk (or buttermilk), melted butter, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  • 3️⃣ Combine Wet & Dry Ingredients: Slowly pour the wet ingredients into the dry mixture and gently mix until just combined. Do not overmix, as this can make the waffles dense.
  • 4️⃣ Fold in the Strawberries: Gently fold the diced strawberries into the batter, ensuring even distribution without crushing them.
  • 5️⃣ Preheat the Waffle Iron: Heat your waffle maker to medium-high and lightly grease it with non-stick spray or melted butter.
  • 6️⃣ Cook the Waffles: Pour the batter into the waffle iron, filling it without overflowing. Close the lid and cook for 3-5 minutes or until the waffles are golden brown and crispy.
  • 7️⃣ Serve & Enjoy: Transfer waffles to a plate and top with maple syrup, whipped cream, fresh berries, or your favorite toppings. Enjoy immediately!

Notes

✅ For Extra Crispiness: Place cooked waffles in a 200°F oven for a few minutes before serving.
✅ For a Healthier Version: Swap all-purpose flour with whole wheat flour and use almond milk instead of dairy.
✅ Using Frozen Strawberries? Thaw them first and pat them dry to prevent excess moisture in the batter.
✅ Want a Stronger Strawberry Flavor? Blend some strawberries into a purée and mix it into the batter.
